Italian energy contractor Saipem has agreed to sell its shallow-water offshore drilling ​business in Saudi Arabia in a ‌deal worth $285 million, the company said on Wednesday.

The ​general superintendence of Brazil's antitrust watchdog ‌CADE approved the proposed merger between energy contractors Subsea7 and Saipem without restrictions, a document ​seen by Reuters showed on Tuesday.

Saipem SpA maintains constructive guidance, with project delivery in the Middle East largely unaffected and payment flows stable despite regional disruptions.
