Japans größter Öl- und Gaskonzern Inpex teilte am Freitag mit, dass das Unternehmen seine Vorkaufsrechte ausgeübt habe, um einen 0,735%igen Anteil am Ichthys-Liquefied-Natural-Gas-Projekt in Australien von JERA zu kaufen und damit einen mit MidOcean Energy vereinbarten Deal zu blockieren.

Der japanische Öl- und Gasexplorer Inpex Corp hob am Freitag seine Jahresgewinnprognose um bis zu 46 % auf einen Rekordwert von 510 Mrd. Yen (3,22 Mrd. USD) an und nannte dafür höhere Ölpreise sowie eine starke Produktion aus seinem Ichthys-LNG-Projekt in Australien als Gründe.

Die Umweltbehörde im Northern Territory Australiens klagte am Mittwoch gegen den japanischen Energiekonzern Inpex vor Gericht, weil das Unternehmen die Emissionen seiner Ichthys-LNG-Anlage bei Darwin unterberichtet haben soll.

Offshore Alliance said on Monday that it had filed a ​complaint against Japan's Inpex with Australia's offshore energy regulator, alleging ‌that the company used unqualified workers to operate critical equipment at its Ichthys LNG facilities.

Workers will escalate the strike at Inpex's Ichthys LNG facilities in Australia that started last ​week over a wage dispute, after talks ‌failed to progress with the Japanese operator, the Offshore Alliance union said on Monday.
